Opportunities
HR Consultant (salary range £28-32k, pro rata for part time)
This is a unique and exciting opportunity for a talented individual to deliver HR consultancy and support to a range of high growth, innovative clients and to help mentor and develop less experienced team members in a fast-paced business environment. No one day is the same, as team members Marina and Donna describe.
Our clients are scaling startups in dynamic environments which requires us to be both proactive and reactive to ensure we deliver an excellent customer service.
Duties
In this varied role you can expect to be working on the following tasks and duties as the main focus of your days:
- Providing commercially focussed and pragmatic advice and recommendations around day to day HR and employment issues.
- Carrying out HR audit reviews and gap analysis projects for new clients, and for existing clients continuously improving their current HR set ups by recommending and assisting with implementing solutions, changes and practical tools to help them grow.
- Advising management teams on the practical application of their HR policies and helping them recruit, train and manage their new team members.
- Helping our clients to build inclusive, welcoming and values driven cultures and working environments.
- Mentoring and supporting the development of line managers, acting as first point of contact for HR queries and on management support and advice.
- Researching and implementing cost effective HR tools that simplify working practices and add value to our clients.
- Representing AAB People at external events and acting as an ambassador to support marketing and sales activities.
Requirements
To thrive in our dynamic environment, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills, experience and qualities:
- Some applied knowledge of HR practice, employee relations and legislation and an understanding of how to translate this into simple, effective and practical advice and tools for clients.
- Excellent communication and listening skills with the ability to explain complex ideas and concepts in a clear and concise, jargon-free manner to clients aligned to their needs and desired outcomes.
- Excellent questioning skills to carefully understand client issues and needs in order to develop and implement tailored solutions and fulfil requirements.
- A consultative and flexible approach with the ability to tailor solutions to requirements and take a commercial and client-focused approach to problem solving.
- Effective people skills building trust, rapport and confidence with clients and internally within the AAB People team.
- Discretion and an awareness and understanding of strict confidentiality requirements.
- A forward thinking, solutions-focused and innovative approach to improve and develop tools, processes and solutions.
- Responsive and client-focused recognising the importance of facilitating an excellent client experience and representing the AAB People brand externally.
- Committed to continuous improvement and ongoing learning & personal development.
- Highly organised, diligent and with strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
- Full, clean driving licence and access to your own car.
- Candidates should be CIPD-qualified with previous applied experience of HR processes and development and implementation of policies in SME business environment(s).
- Full time and part time (minimum 3 days) will be considered.
This is a fast-paced role in a growing, early-stage company and the above list of tasks and responsibilities is not exhaustive. As a member of our small and supportive team, you will have the opportunity to be involved in a broader range of activities than those described above, to be mentored and supported by our Senior Consultants, and to develop your HR and consultancy skills.
HR Administrator (salary range £18-22k, pro rata for part time)
This role has been created to help support the development of our growing team and allow us to respond to increased requirements for new and existing clients. It is a broad role providing HR administration and recruitment support, both internally to our team of experienced HR consultants and also directly to our clients.
This is a superb opportunity to join a highly motivated and talented close-knit team of HR professionals, to develop your HR knowledge and skills, and to help provide HR consultancy support and outstanding service to a range of high growth innovative clients.
Duties
In this varied role you can expect to be working on the following tasks and duties as the main focus of your days:
- HR record keeping and systems administration
- Provide HR administration support to clients relating to each stage of the employment lifecycle
- Manage client HR administration systems and reporting
- Collate and prepare market and benchmarking data and reports
- Recruitment administration – advertising, managing response, candidate communications, interview arrangements, initial screenings
- Contract and offer letter preparation
- Referencing and pre-employment checks
- Onboarding and induction process coordination – record keeping and management on behalf of clients
- General administrative support to the HR Consultancy team and fulfil client project needs
- Prepare documentation on behalf of clients to support internal processes such as appraisals, probation, absence management, employee relations cases, benefits administration, leaver processes
- Monitor client HR inboxes and respond to or escalate support queries as required
- Occasional note taking support to consultants and clients during formal HR meetings and workshops
- Diary coordination and support for HR consultants
- Coordinate, track and monitor training activities and records management
- Support leaver processes, exit interviews and coordination
- Prepare, review and refresh template client toolkits and documentation
- Represent AAB People externally at events and on social media, and act as ambassador to support marketing and sales activities and business growth.
