HOW I HELP

Supporting clients in a Human Resource Business Partner capacity. Supporting leadership teams with the development of strategic HR agendas. Building line management capability. Planning and managing talent. Developing approaches that achieve shared organisational objectives. Supporting employees with their development and well-being.

SECTORS/SUPPORTS

There is some cross-over between AAB People and AAB Payroll, Employee Benefits and Tax.

“I AM A HARD WORKER & PUT MY ALL INTO EVERYTHING I DO.”

Aoife Travers is an HR Consultant based in our Edinburgh office. Having started with AAB People during her MSc in Business Psychology with Human Resource Management as an HR Advisor and has recently been promoted to HR Consultant.

Aoife’s is a varied role and includes dealing with employee relations cases, talent management, recruitment, onboarding of new employees and employee engagement. She has a particular interest in well-being and diversity and inclusion.

TRUST

“An ideal client relationship is built on trust, it’s important for clients to trust that you have their company and their employees’ best interests in mind and that the guidance or recommendations you give are based on best practice with considerations made to their culture, values and organisational objectives. Listening is also very important, to truly understand what the client needs and how you can best deliver this.”

BEING PROACTIVE

“Clients expect me to know the ins and outs of their business and anticipate future needs by being proactive with the implementation and delivery of their HR strategy.”

WORKING WITH INNOVATIVE CLIENTS

“I enjoy working with innovative start-ups in the UK and playing a part in their growth and development. I work with clients who have created solutions to many different worldwide concerns, including carbon emissions and renewable energy, so it feels good to be working with clients with a mission to take action against the climate crisis.”

CONSTRUCTIVE CHALLENGING

“Being able to challenge clients if they are not acting in best practice is really important, as is being able to provide alternative approaches.”

FLEXIBILITY

“I’m always happy to visit clients and employees on-site, but it’s fantastic to be able to connect with clients who are possibly overseas via video calls – it really opens up our ability to help more businesses and increases our flexibility.”

ACCESS TO DIVERSE KNOWLEDGE

“There are constantly new challenges and new experiences you haven’t come across before, employment legislation is very vast however having the support of the wider team at AAB People has been great, having access to the diverse knowledge and experience of the other consultants means I can always overcome these challenges.”

DEVELOPMENT & PROGRESSION

“I’m really looking forward to the development and progression opportunities that working with a Group like AAB allows, as well as having access to so much expertise and experience to draw upon. It’s certainly an exciting time to be part of the AAB Group.”

SEAMLESS SERVICE

“Collaboration is our superpower – we have a vast collective knowledge across AAB Group. Working with clients we can identify needs they may have for other support that AAB can provide, such as payroll, employee benefits and tax. This puts us in a great position to work collaboratively across the group and provide seamless service for clients.”

ANTICIPATING NEEDS

“The strengths I bring to the Group are definitely that I am a hard worker and put my all into everything I do, and I have been complimented for being proactive and anticipating my clients’ needs.”

EMPLOYEE WELLBEING

“Some people perceive HR as negative, however, one of our biggest focuses is on employee well-being, and figuring out how we can make our client’s companies great places to work.”
