Day-to-day business operations. Supporting the Operational Manager.
The Finance, Operations and People & Culture teams.
Based in Edinburgh, Laura Barton is an Operational Assistant at AAB People. Laura’s role is to ensure that the day-to-day operations of the business are met along with supporting the Operational Manager.
“I am very determined; I know my own mind and I’m confident in the way of working that works best for me, and I feel that reflects with AAB’s reputation as being quite feisty and assertive.”
“I think there is a happy balance between client-facing and virtual and that balance works well. It’s important that people have the option of communicating and conducting business virtually and in person, and so it’s crucial that we’re equipped to offer both.”
“My greatest challenge in work is making sure all external invoices are paid to us in a timely manner. It requires organisation and determination, so I’m well-suited to the challenge.”
“One of the things I love about working in AAB Group is the work-life balance that’s possible with the firm. It’s also exciting to be a part of such a fast-growing company especially given the challenges of the current climate.”
“One of the Group Values is that we are active members of our local and global community – that we play our role, and do what we can to learn and teach, preserve and develop, challenge and nurture. I think this is important. If everyone is looked after and guided/supported correctly in the workplace then they will do great things for the company they work for. It’s a win-win situation, as it creates an environment and outcomes that are just better for everyone involved.”
“I thrive in a fast-paced environment, and I genuinely enjoy completing complex tasks and solving the problems I deal with each day. I have a great work ethic and I won’t give up on solving particular problems or finishing difficult projects.”
“I think some people perceive a corporate working environment to be quite dry, however, I don’t find this to be true. I believe that AAB Group is adapting new cultures within the way they work.”
